Elephants are not Birds

This book is apart of the Brave Books series. Brave books purpose is to tackle hot topics in our culture today and explain them to children in a conservative manner. The first book in the series, "Elephants Are Not Birds," immediately caught my attention.

The story follows an elephant named Kevin who loves to sing, but is convinced by a meddling vulture named Culture that he must actually be a bird. Kevin starts trying to act like a bird, but quickly realizes it's just not natural for him. It's not until a crisis hits his town that Kevin embraces his true identity as an elephant and uses his unique strengths to save the day.

What I loved most about this book is how it teaches kids an important lesson about being true to who God created them to be. In a world that often pressures us to be something we're not, it's crucial to instill in our children the confidence to accept and celebrate their God-given identities. The Brave Books series seems to do this in a charming, age-appropriate way.

Beyond the storyline, the production value of "Elephants Are Not Birds" is top-notch. The illustrations are vibrant and whimsical, drawing you into the imaginative world of Brave Books. I also appreciate the additional resources included, like the fold-out town map and "Brave Challenge" activities.

Brave books can be bought one at a time or by subscription service which they mail monthly to your doorstep. I mean what child doesn’t love receiving mail?!
