Goodbye to Goodbyes

The Good Book Company has done it again with this faithful retelling of the story of Lazarus, a man who became sick and died, only to be miraculously brought back to life by Jesus. It's a powerful narrative that not only introduces kids to the biblical account, but also explores the emotions and questions that arise when faced with the reality of death.

What I love most about this book is the way it connects Lazarus' story to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Just as Lazarus was restored to life, Jesus conquered death itself, promising that those who believe in Him will one day be reunited in the land where there are no more goodbyes.

As a parent, navigating conversations about death and loss with my little ones can be daunting. But "Goodbye to Goodbyes" provides a gentle, comforting framework for addressing these heavy topics. The beautiful illustrations and relatable analogies (like saying goodbye to a friend in the hospital) make it accessible for young readers.

Most importantly, this book points children to the hope we have in Jesus - the hope that, even in the midst of our deepest sorrows, goodbyes are never forever. I highly recommend adding "Goodbye to Goodbyes" to your family's library. It's a treasure that will undoubtedly bring comfort and encouragement during life's most difficult transitions.
